ElevenLabs Alternative

An ElevenLabs alternative that lives next to your game assets

Sloyd Audio makes sound effects, seamless loops and spoken lines from text, in the same workspace and on the same plan as your 3D models, images, skyboxes and video. Audio is included in Sloyd Plus and Pro; creating an account is free.

What you get

Everything on this page is what Sloyd Audio does today. The honest gaps are in the table further down.

Sound Effects, Loops And Variations

Describe a sound and get a clip from 0.5 to 30 seconds. Turn on Loop for ambience that repeats without a click, and ask for one, two or four takes of the same prompt in a single run.

NPC And Narrator Speech

Paste up to 5,000 characters, pick a voice from the library and get spoken lines for guards, quest givers, tutorials and narration. Voice stability and voice closeness shape the delivery.

MP3 Downloads, Saved For Later

Every clip downloads as a 44.1 kHz MP3 and stays in My Activity under the Audio filter, so you can play or download it again at any time.

The Same Account As Your Other Assets

Audio sits beside text to 3D, image to 3D, images, skyboxes and video in one workspace, on one subscription, with one credit balance. No second tool to buy and no second bill.

Sound effects made from a text prompt

Each clip below was generated in Sloyd Audio from the prompt under it and downloaded as an MP3.

Creaky Door Sound Effect

“creaky dungeon door”

Footsteps Sound Effect

“slow footsteps on wet gravel”

Sword Clash Sound Effect

“sword clash, metallic ring”

Magic Spell Sound Effect

“fireball spell cast, whoosh and crackle”

UI Click Sound Effect

“single crisp UI button click”

Rain Ambience Loop

“heavy rain on a rooftop”

How Sloyd Audio works

Describe the sound, set the length

Write a short prompt, set a length between 0.5 and 30 seconds or let Auto duration pick one, and generate. Prompt influence decides whether a take follows your words closely or wanders a little, and Loop returns ambience that repeats seamlessly.

Character Voices

Spoken lines for NPCs and narrators

Generated from the script under each clip, with a voice picked from the library. Audio generation needs Sloyd Plus or Sloyd Pro.

NPC Guard Voice Line

“Halt. State your business, traveler.”

Quest Giver Voice Line

“The old mine has gone quiet. Too quiet. Will you take a look?”

Narrator Opening Line

“Long before the towers fell, this valley answered to no king.”

Who should pick which

Neither tool wins everywhere. The split is about what else you are making.

Pick ElevenLabs

If you need voice cloning, generated music, dubbing into other languages, WAV or PCM files, or an API to call audio from your own code, ElevenLabs does those things and Sloyd does not. Audio is their whole product, and their plans start lower.

Pick Sloyd

If you are already building game or video assets in Sloyd, audio arrives on the plan you have. Sound effects, loops and spoken lines generate next to your 3D models, images, skyboxes and video, land in the same My Activity list, and draw on the same credits.

Sloyd Audio vs ElevenLabs

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free ElevenLabs alternative?

Not in Sloyd, if free is the requirement. Creating a Sloyd account is free, but generating audio needs Sloyd Plus or Sloyd Pro. For genuinely free game audio, Freesound hosts community recordings whose licences vary file by file, and open-source models such as Stable Audio Open are free to self-host if you have a GPU. ElevenLabs also has a $0 plan with 10,000 credits a month, and lists its commercial licence from the Starter plan up. Our rundown of ElevenLabs alternatives goes through the free options in more detail.

Does Sloyd clone voices?

No. Voice cloning, meaning recreating the voice of a real person, is not supported. Text to speech uses a curated library of ready-made voices that you preview and favorite, and you shape the read with voice stability and voice closeness.

Can Sloyd make music?

No. Sloyd Audio makes sound effects, ambience loops and spoken lines. There is no music generator, and no dubbing.

What format do I get?

A 44.1 kHz MP3, for both sound effects and speech. There is no WAV or PCM export. MP3 imports into Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, Roblox Studio and every common video editor.

How many credits does audio use?

Sound effects cost 1 credit per 3 seconds of clip, rounded to the nearest credit and never below 1, so a 3-second effect is 1 credit, an Auto-length effect is billed as 2 and the 30-second ceiling is 10. Each variation is billed separately, so four takes of a 10-second effect cost 12 credits. Speech costs 15 credits per 1,000 characters, charged in steps of 5 and never below 5. Credits come out of the same monthly balance as your 3D, image and video generations.

Which plan do I need?

Sloyd Plus or Sloyd Pro. Any Sloyd account can open Audio and look around, but generating and downloading clips needs a subscription. Plus starts at $15 a month.

Can I use Sloyd audio in a commercial game?

Check the Terms of Use before you ship, since they set out what you may do with what you make in Sloyd. If they do not clearly cover your project, ask support before you release it.

Is the audio any good compared to ElevenLabs?

Judge that with your ears, not our copy: the clips on this page are unedited downloads from Sloyd Audio. We make no claim that our sound effects or speech beat anyone else, and the table above is about features, prices and limits rather than quality.

Where can I find my clips again?

In My Activity, next to your other Sloyd generations, under the Audio filter. Play a clip back in the browser or download the MP3 again at any time.

Hear one sound before you switch anything

Open Audio, describe a door, a footstep or a line of dialogue, and decide from the clip rather than the comparison table.
