What Sloyd is

What is Sloyd?

Sloyd is an AI creation platform for 3D models, images, video, and audio, built for game developers, 3D printing, e-commerce, and creators. Instead of asking you to pick between single-purpose tools, Sloyd generates 3D assets, edits and creates images, rigs and animates characters, and produces short videos and sound in one place. Learn more about Sloyd.

Who is Sloyd for?

Sloyd is for creators who need 3D and visual assets quickly, including game developers, 3D printing makers, e-commerce sellers, filmmakers, and interior designers. You do not need to be a 3D artist: Sloyd handles the modeling, texturing, and export so you can focus on your project. See who uses Sloyd.

What can I create with Sloyd?

With Sloyd you can create 3D models and full scenes, images, rigged and animated characters, skyboxes, short videos, and sound effects or voice-over. Sloyd also offers parametric templates and image apps. Each capability has its own page, and they share one subscription. Explore what Sloyd makes.

Is Sloyd an AI 3D model generator?

Yes. Sloyd is an AI 3D model generator that turns text prompts or images into ready-to-use 3D models. It also customizes handcrafted parametric templates in the browser. You can control polycount, choose quads or triangles, retexture, and export to standard game and print formats. Try text to 3D.

Can Sloyd generate images as well as 3D models?

Yes. Sloyd generates and edits images alongside its 3D tools, including text-to-image creation and prompt-based image editing through its AI image apps. Image creation and editing are part of the same platform as 3D, so you can build visual assets and models together. Generate images with Sloyd.

Can Sloyd generate videos?

Yes. Sloyd Video Studio generates short videos from text, an image, or a 3D model, and can edit or extend existing clips. Videos are 5 to 15 seconds and are generated with sound. Sloyd selects the right video model for each job, so you never choose a provider. See Sloyd Video Studio.

Can Sloyd generate sound effects and voice-over?

Yes. Sloyd Audio generates sound effects and text-to-speech voice-over from a prompt. Sound effects run from 0.5 to 30 seconds with looping, and text-to-speech reads up to 5,000 characters using a library of ready-made voices. Sloyd does not generate music and does not clone real voices. Explore Sloyd Audio.

Do I need 3D modeling experience to use Sloyd?

No. Sloyd is built so anyone can create 3D without modeling experience: you describe what you want or upload an image, and Sloyd produces a usable model with textures and clean topology. Parametric templates let you customize handcrafted assets with sliders rather than mesh editing. Start from a template.

Does Sloyd run in the browser, or do I need to install software?

Sloyd runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install to start creating. For teams that work inside an engine, Sloyd also offers plugins for Unity, Unreal, Blender, and print slicers, plus a REST API, but the core creation experience is web-based. See Sloyd plugins.

Who makes Sloyd, and where is the company based?

Sloyd is made by a small team of developers and researchers who started as a game studio building their own 3D tools. Sloyd was founded in Norway and operates across the US and Europe. The company trains its own models and combines them with the best external providers. Read the Sloyd story.

How it works

How does Sloyd turn text into a 3D model?

Sloyd turns text into a 3D model by generating a mesh with textures from your prompt, then letting you refine polycount, topology, and materials before export. You describe the object and Sloyd produces a game-ready result in seconds, without picking a model provider yourself. How text to 3D works.

How does Sloyd turn an image into a 3D model?

Sloyd turns an image into a 3D model by reconstructing geometry and textures from one or more reference photos you upload. It supports JPG, PNG, and WEBP uploads, and you can combine multiple images for a more complete result before exporting to your engine or slicer. How image to 3D works.

What makes a good input image for image to 3D?

For image to 3D, Sloyd works best with a clear, well-lit photo of a single subject on a clean background, shot straight-on and in focus. Uploading multiple angles with Sloyd multi-image input improves coverage of parts the camera cannot see in one shot. Image to 3D tips.

What are Sloyd templates, and how do they differ from AI generation?

Sloyd templates are handcrafted parametric 3D models you customize in the browser with sliders, so the result is predictable and clean every time. AI generation creates new models from text or images. Templates suit consistent, controllable assets; AI generation suits novel one-off shapes. Browse Sloyd templates.

Can I edit an image with a text prompt in Sloyd?

Yes. Sloyd lets you edit images with a text prompt, changing parts of an image by describing what you want rather than masking by hand. Prompt-based image editing is part of Sloyd AI image apps and is available on paid plans. Edit images with Sloyd.

Can Sloyd rig and animate my 3D character?

Yes. Sloyd can auto-rig and animate 3D characters, adding a skeleton and motion without manual weight painting. AI rigging and animation are included on paid plans, and you can export the rigged, animated result to standard formats for your engine. Rig and animate with Sloyd.

What are Sloyd Apps?

Sloyd Apps are focused AI image tools that each do one job well, such as specific edits and transformations, so you can jump straight to a task instead of configuring a general editor. They sit alongside Sloyd 3D and image generation under one subscription. Open Sloyd Apps.

Can I keep a consistent art style across generations?

Yes. Sloyd supports custom art styles so your generations share a consistent look. Sloyd Plus includes one custom art style and Sloyd Pro includes unlimited custom styles, which helps keep a game or product line visually coherent across many assets. Compare plan styles on pricing.

Can I control polycount and topology (quads or triangles)?

Yes. Sloyd lets you control polycount and choose quads or triangles so models fit your pipeline, whether you need a low-poly game asset or a denser mesh. The API exposes a target face count up to 500,000 and the same quad or triangle choice. See export and mesh controls.

How long does a generation take?

Sloyd generates most 3D models in seconds, so you can iterate quickly rather than wait on a render queue. Heavier jobs such as high-resolution meshes or video take longer, and paid plans get higher queue priority, with Sloyd Pro getting the highest priority. See queue priority by plan.

Which AI models does Sloyd use?

Sloyd picks the right model or combination of models for each job, so you never choose a provider or model name. Sloyd trains and runs its own 3D models and combines them with the best external models, then selects per task to balance quality, cost, and speed. How Sloyd chooses models.
